Gobi is a camel that appears in the Banjo-Kazooie series. He gives advice to Banjo and Kazooie, but dislikes them.

History

Banjo-Kazooie

Gobi first appears in Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo and Kazooie first find Gobi, the camel is tied down, complaining about the heat in Gobi's Valley. When he is freed, Gobi runs off and rests next to Trunker, but refuses to share his water with the tree, until Banjo and Kazooie drill him making him spit water.

Later, when Banjo makes Gobi cough up a honeycomb, Gobi angrily announces his departure from the valley.

Gobi later turns up under a large flower in Click Clock Wood, where Banjo makes him to give up his water more times. He is fed up then and leaves for a lava world, later known as Hailfire Peaks in Banjo-Tooie.

Banjo-Tooie

In Banjo-Tooie, he is, as promised, in Hailfire Peaks which he, at first, called a lava world. Here he is with Chuffy and helps Banjo and Kazooie so Chuffy can access the icy side.

Also, in the sequel, Gobi is seen wearing a beard and is thus dubbed the "Ancient Bearded Camel". If Banjo goes talking to Gobi alone, Gobi reveals that the beard was put on him to make him more popular, but it's not working.

Banjo-Pilot

Gobi appears in Banjo-Pilot as an obstacle in the Gobi's Valley track.

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts

Gobi was to appear in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, but has been scrapped for unknown reasons. L.O.G. has made two vehicles based on him; the LOG Gobi and the LOG Aqua Gobi.

Trivia

  • Gobi was supposed to appear in one more Banjo-Kazooie level, Mount Fire Eyes which was later removed. This is why Gobi says that he will be leaving to a place "where Banjo won't find him", meaning the beta level has been removed and Banjo and Kazooie cannot access it. In Banjo-Tooie, it's revieled that he was heading to Hailfire Peaks.
