Rattly the Rattlesnake is a reptilian Animal Buddy who made his debut in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. Rattly can use his coiled-up tail to spring high into the air, allowing the Kongs to reach otherwise inaccessible places. With his charge-up move, he can launch himself even higher into the air. He can also jump on Zingers and most other enemies without harming himself.

A native of Crocodile Isle, Rattly was never too fond of the Kremling Krew that reigned over his home. Gladly assisting Diddy and Dixie during their quest to rescue DK, he moved to Donkey Kong Island following his homeland's destruction. He presumably made residence in the caves of the Kongo Jungle, home of his high-jumping counterpart Winky.

Rattly reappeared in Donkey Kong Land 2, aiding the Kongs through certain areas of the newly-resurrected Crocodile Isle. After the island sank for a final time, Rattly remained happy and content on his adopted Kong Island. While he hasn't been seen since, he's most likely ready and willing to aid the Kongs when needed.
