Puftoss is the fourth boss in Donkey Kong 64 and is fought by Lanky Kong in Gloomy Galleon. He is known to be a notable species of the Puftups.
Battle Summary[]
To defeat Puftoss, Lanky must traverse the area, looking for DK stars, and sail through them, raising lightning rods around Puftoss, after which, he must seek out another star in 30 seconds while dodging Puftoss’ fireballs. After raising five rods, they emit streams of electricity that electrocute Puftoss.
Lanky must then repeat the process four more times. However, with each round, the stars shrink and the amount of time to trigger the next star decreases by five seconds. In addition, Puftoss starts unleashing shockwaves and sending Puftups after Lanky. After electrocuting Puftoss five times, he bursts and deflates, flying around and then drifting downwards like a leaf, disappearing as he hits the water, leaving behind a key.
