Extra Life Balloons as they appear in Donkey Kong Country.
Extra Life Balloons are items found in the Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Land trilogies. In each DKC game, they appear in three diffferent colors: red, green, and blue. A red balloon is worth one life, a green balloon is worth two, and a blue balloon is worth three. The red balloons are the most common, with the green and blue balloons being much more scarce.

- The balloons have the faces of the titular character of that game on them (excluding Diddy as his face is on the balloons in Donkey Kong Land III.
- Kiddy is the only playable Kong who doesn't have his face on an Extra Life Balloon, due to the above reason.
- Three Extra Life Balloons from Donkey Kong Country can be seen in Swanky's Bonus Bonanza, one of each color.
- Unused sprites of yellow balloons have been found in Donkey Kong Country.
