Buzzes are mechanical wasps appearing in the Donkey Kong series. They have chainsaws inside of their backs.
History[]
Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!/Land III[]
Buzzes first appear in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! as very commonly found enemies. The only stages they lack appearances in is Lakeside Limbo, underwater levels, Skidda's Row, Koindozer Klamber and Poisonous Pipeline. The monkeys cannot defeat this enemy themselves and rather need help by Squawks' eggs or barrels.
They also have a red variant which can only be defeated by TNT Barrels, Krosshair's fireballs or an Invincibility Barrel. They can also be defeated via a Rocket Barrel, but only in the Super Nintendo Entertainment System version.
Buzzes reappear in Donkey Kong Land III acting the same as in the semi-sequel. The red Buzzes are absent and the buzzes only come in green (gray in the Game Boy version).
Diddy Kong Pilot[]
Buzzes reappear in the 2003 build of Diddy Kong Pilot. In this game, there are only pink and blue variants which don't appear in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! and Donkey Kong Land III. These enemies act as missiles and hit whoever is in front of them while the blues do the ones in first.

- Despite there being no pink Buzzes in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, a piece of artwork depicts Buzz as pink. There are red Buzzes however. Pink Buzzes appear in Diddy Kong Pilot though.
- Mecha-Zingers may have been inspired from Buzzes and are quite similar as both appear to be manmade.
