Bleak is a snowman-like boss found in the Donkey Kong series.

History[]

Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble![]

Bleak first appears in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! as the fifth boss of the game. He appears at the end of K3 in the area Bleak's House. The object is that Dixie and Kiddy must attack Bleak by throwing snowballs at his tie, appearing to be his source of power and his weak spot behind the walls that is used for Bleak's protection. If the primates hit him a few times, he tries a new tactic; shooting giant snowballs the size of cannonballs out of his hat.

When he is hit six times, he collapses with a sort of seizure and explodes, revealing the Bonus Coin so that Dixie and Kiddy may continue on their adventure and go to Razor Ridge.

Donkey Kong Land III[]

Bleak reappears in Donkey Kong Land III as, once again, a boss, but this time in Primate Plains. His area name is now called Bleak Magic. His tactic of throwing snowballs has disappeared and is not in the game, but he still has his tactic of shooting snowballs out of his hat in various areas. He can be defeated if Dixie and Kiddy go on top of a miniature house, grab a barrel and throw it at him. Bleak also becomes more aggressive on each hit and shoots snowballs quicker. The primates must repeat this step three more times to defeat Bleak, obtain his Bonus Coin, and move on to Blackforest Plateau.
