History[]

Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble![]

Barbos first appears in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! as the boss of Razor Ridge in Barbos Barrier, later the boss of Pacifica in the Game Boy Advance remake and a difference in this version is that she must have become hit four times instead of three, making it more challenging. The fourth time requires avoiding spikes, like the previous two times.

When engaging battle, Dixie and Kiddy turns into Enguarde via an Animal Barrel. Enguarde must attack Barbos by charging into her after defeating one of her children so Enguarde can supercharge into Barbos.

Next, Barbos squishes up and down until preceding down to the next lower seabed floor and uses a new attack; shooting spike missiles. Enguarde can counter these missiles by going in an area where the spikes are not shot at and then charge into Enguarde's middle.

Next, Barbos goes down to the bottom seabed floor and shoots spikes again at Enguarde. Enguarde must stab Barbos once more to gain victory and win a Bonus Coin.

Donkey Kong Land III[]

Barbos reappears as a boss in Donkey Kong Land III in Cape Codswallop in the boss level which is titled Barbos Bastion. Dixie and Kiddy. This time, the battle is just on a single floor and the spike attack from Barbos is excluded.

To attack Barbos, Enguarde must launch a Lurchin inside of Barbos who then send out three Lurchins after Enguarde temporarily until they become stationary. Enguarde must wait again for the Lurchin to be open to stab it at Barbos and must do this three times total to gain a Bonus Coin.
